Revised plans lodged for Leeds Supercity project

UK: Revised plans have been submitted for an aparthotel in a grade II-listed building in Leeds city centre.

Planning permission was granted for the conversion of the former Jubilee Hotel in January 2020, with a 43-key aparthotel and ground floor commercial space proposed.

The revised scheme would provide a total of 61 serviced apartments.

Revisions have also been made to the new-build element of the scheme, together with changes to the Jubilee Hotel. The main entrance to the new hotel has moved from the new building to the Jubilee.

A statement accompanying the application said: “The proposed amendments are relatively minor in extent and effect and will not give rise to any negative impacts upon the built historic environment, including the grade II-listed building comprising the former Jubilee Hotel and the Leeds City Centre Conservation Area.”

Supercity Aparthotels acquired the site in September 2021.

The former Jubilee Hotel, located on The Headrow opposite Leeds Town Hall, was constructed in 1904 by Thomas Winn & Sons.

For me, the most important thing is the networking. My business is in a small city and you need to be in an environment with people that are talking about ideas, giving you a new perspective. The workshops are also like having a family where you can talk about your main issues and they will understand.
