Lidl gets planning consent for Romanian aparthotel

German retailer Lidl has been granted a construction permit for an aparthotel in Brasov.

The property will be built in the grounds of a former chocolate factory, previously acquired from the American group Mondelez, which closed the factory when it moved its facilities to Bulgaria. Lidl bought the plot for around €2 million.

Lidl, will build a store on the 13,000 square metre site, part of which will be sold to a real estate developer to build the aparthotel.
